PoE 2 0.5.5 Patch Notes, Explained
Patch notes tell you what changed. This page tells you what it means. Below are the balance changes that matter most for the builds most players are running this league.
- What changed and why
- Builds most affected
- What this means for the economy
What changed and why
0.5.5 landed with the Forbidden Rites event and included a round of balance tuning aimed at the strongest league-start builds. The intent was to bring the top performers back in line without gutting them, and to give underused skills a little more room. The changes are mostly numeric rather than mechanical, so existing builds keep working but their relative power shifts.
Builds most affected
If your build was topping tier lists in the first weeks of Runes of Aldur, check whether it relied on the specific interactions that were toned down. Most tuned builds remain viable, but some lose their "best in slot" status. Newer or buffed skills are often the smart pick now, especially for players who want to try something fresh this event.
What this means for the economy
Because 0.5.5 also refreshed the event economy, early-week prices are more volatile than usual. That is an opportunity for players who are active at league start, and a warning not to overpay on gear that may drop in value.
